GFWC Mount Dora Woman's Club, Inc.
Membership Dues Can Be Paid on the Members Page
The beginning of the GFWC Mount Dora Woman's Club originated in 1919 when a notice was placed in the Mount Dora Topic inviting all women interested in civic affairs to meet at the Town Hall. Fifteen women responded and began all the good work of the local community. In 1926, the Club became a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
Today, we are a group of over 50 women from Mount Dora and its surrounding towns. All of our clubwomen are united in their dedication to volunteer service. Diverse in age, interests, and experiences, we all share the desire to create positive change in our local communities.

Our individual and group volunteer activities have five Community Service Programs
GFWC Mount Dora Woman's Club, Inc. and its members are devoted to community service in the Central Lake County area. Each member has an individual volunteer passion (and sometimes several). Our members are active and involved at the Bay Street and Ice House Theatres, the W.T. Bland Library, Cornerstone Hospice, Guardian ad Litem services, local food pantries, and homeless shelters, to name just a few. Together they organize events to raise funds for donations to local charities.
What We Do
Arts & Culture
This program encourgages members to promote and support arts activities in their clubs, schools, and communities. It is designed to inspire clubwomen and ignite within them a desire to make their work a more beautiful place.
Civic Engagement & Outreach
This program focuses on citizenship, military personnel, emergency and disaster preparedness, and safety prevention. This program is designed to actively connect members with effective projects and activities relating to civic and social responsibilities.
Education & Libraries
Projects in the Education and Libraries Community Service Program are designed to foster schools, as well as other educational institutions and opportunities These projects promote libraries, literacy and the love of a good book.
Our club has been actively involved with the WT Bland Library in Mount Dora since the club's inception. Today, many of our members volunteer their time to the library for their various community programs, and each year the Club donates to the library.
Environmental Community
The Environment Community Service Program encourages us to become stewards of the earth by working to preserve the world's resources, protect wildlife and domesticated animals, live sustainably, beautify our communities and enjoy nature.
Health & Wellness
This Program is designed to inform members of issues that affect the well-being of individuals, families and communities by providing opportunities and resources to meet and address needs through volunteering. Club members develop and implement projects that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Tavares Water Treatment Plant Tour. Several members braved the chilly morning to tour the Waster Water Treatment Plant in Tavares. It was a very informative tour, from how the water is tested in the lab to how the water is stored and where it goes after that.
Blue Spring Eco Tour. What a beautiful day members of the Mount Dora Woman's Club had at Blue Spring State Park. After watching Sea World release a manatee into the springs, members, enjoyed a narrated nature and ecological cruise on the beautiful and historic St. Johns River.
